Drugs and Alcohol

Drug and Alcohol Adult Service’s (Substance Misuse ) 

There are a number of services in Havering which offer help and support for those experiencing difficulties with drugs and/or alcohol and their carers and families

The services also offer healthcare advice and a free needle and syringe programme to support reducing the number of drug related deaths and the spread of blood borne viruses, such as hepatitis C and HIV. 

All patients who need support with substance misuse must be referred to: -

All Patients will have a triage assessment and those patients who need support with opiate misuse and required prescribing will be referred via First stop to:-

New Directions will also provide the Blood Born Virus screening and vaccination, as required, for all patients referred into the adult services via First Stop. 

New Directions support those GP’s who are providing Shared Care to patients within the community and any queries regarding shared care can be made directly to New Directions.
